Air Experience Flying

It was very early on the 15th August that Barnsley Air Cadets rose and met at the Squadron HQ.  This was all to ensure we arrived at RAF Leeming for Air Experience Flying (AEF) for the day.  Seven cadets and two staff travelled together to RAF Leeming for the day.  Upon arrival at the AEF Squadron a brief was given and a safety rehearsal on how to exit the aircraft in the rare occasion something went wrong.

The weather was slightly against us in the morning, but this did improve during the day which meant flying could resume, but with a limited window of time.  The pilots and ground crew were amazing during the day and supported our Squadron and the other Squadron during the day.  All thirteen cadets were able to fly, so a great day all round.

All flyers had beams from ear to ear having had their first Air Cadet flying venture.  We hope for many more to come.

We travelled home quite late, but the motorway services provided some light relieve on the way for some.

Thanks to all those who took time to take the cadets along with those who supported them during the day.
