Fg Off Hannah Banks

Flying Officer Banks has been involved with the ATC since she started out as a Cadet at the age of 13.  She joined the ATC after seeing an advert in the local paper and wanted to find out what it was all about. 

Highlights of her time as a Cadet include going on 15 camps, gaining her Silver Gliding Wings, Bronze and Silver DofE awards, being the lead drummer in the Squadron band that came third in the Corps competition and also getting her Youth and Activity St John’s First Aid badges. 

After ageing out at the rank of Cadet Flight Sergeant she moved to 148 Squadron as Adult Sergeant in early 2013. Highlights of being a staff member at 148 includes taking part and completing the Nijmegen International Endurance March, achieving First Aid at Work and also getting to meet new people and cadets helping to give her a fresh start as a member of staff.

In addition Flying Officer Banks is a member of instructional staff at the Air Operations Acquaintance centre at Linton on Ouse teaching cadets operational combat flying and weapon systems on F16 flight Simulators.

In 2019, after 6 years of serving as an Adult Sergeant and Flight Sergeant, Flying Officer Banks chose to apply to become an Officer in the RAF Air Cadets. Upon successful completion at the Officer and Aircrew Selection Centre she has gained her Cadet Forces Commission and continues to progress through her CFAV career at 148 Squadron.

Outside of the organisation, Flying Officer Banks enjoys photography, exploring the outdoors and reading all things aviation.
