On the 30th and 31st of July, seven 148 (Barnsley) Squadron cadets and three staff were joined by cadets and staff from 1384 (Askern) Squadron and took part in an Initial Expedition Training Weekend. The cadets had lessons in packing rucksacks, map reading, grid references, camp craft, first aid and emergencies, tents and cooking. A nice long walk from 1384 (Askern) Squadron HQ to Squirrel Wood Scout Camp. Cadets from both units made good friends and are all looking forward to their upcoming The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Bronze expeditions in the near future.
