RAF Benson Wing Camp 2019

Between the 27th July and the 3rd August 2019 myself and five other cadets and CI Owen travelled to RAF Benson for a week long camp filled with competition and excitement. It was many of their first time at camp which ended with everyone wanting to go again.

The week was filled with lots, but to mention some are section visits such as Search and Rescue, The Station Armoury, Joint Helicopter Support Squadron along with a visit to the Fire Section, MT, and Air Traffic Control.  These section visits gave cadets an insight to many different roles and responsibilities within the RAF.  We also got physical with a sports day and battle PT with the staff from JHSS which many enjoyed – it was my highlight of the week.

Many would argue that the flight in the Puma was a highlight which we were lucky to get up and experience. Not to mention the inter flight competition which ran throughout the week with quizzes and challenges when we visited the RAF Museum Hendon and Windsor Castle

Finally concluding with a drill competition which everyone enjoyed in the end.

I personally look forward to another camp with many of the same activities and so do the other cadets!
