Success at 148!

Recently we have had several cadets achieve qualifications, badges and be promoted!

Firstly we have promoted three cadets to the rank of Corporal. To get promoted, cadets have to show their commitment and good conduct towards the squadron as well as being an exceptional role model to the other cadets. Congratulations to Cpl Owen Rothwell, Cpl Sophie Kirk and Cpl Cassidy Schofield.

Secondly, we have seen a number of cadets who have completed a St John’s Activity First Aid Course to gain their Silver First Aid Badge. This came after a weekend course of training. As a result the cadets are now qualified first-aiders who can assist on the Youth First Aid Courses. Congratulations to Flt Sgt Dylan Kirk, Sgt Sam Richmond, Cpl Alex Bessell, Cpl Cameron Schofield, Cpl Caitlin Schofield, Cdt Cailtin Derby and Cdt Fiddes. Many thanks to Deputy Wing First Aid Officer CI Green, and his team for delivering such an informative and enjoyable course!

Also we have presented Cdt Thomas Yates with his Shooting Marksman on the Air Rifle. In order to achieve this grade, Cdt Yates had to complete CLF3 and score at least with 150 points. Well done Cdt Yates and good luck with the rest of your shooting career. Many thanks to CI Lewis Melia for assisting the cadets achieve their marksman badges on the Air Rifle.

Finally have presented Cdt Tom Crawford with his Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award. The Duke of Edinburgh Award is a true reflection of Tom’s hard work put in over the last year. Well done Cdt Crawford and best of luck with your Silver Award.
