Wing Clay Target Shooting Competition

On the Third of March myself, three other cadets and staff member travelled to Goole for a clay pigeon competition. For myself it was the second time participating in this kind of event for others in the group was the first-time taking part in this type of competition or shooting a shotgun at all!

Just as the time before it was fun going around to each station, each filled with a different style of shooting. These were in front, the rat run, fast across, close to far and far to close. The day was really good to be able to develop techniques learnt on the Air Rifle on a different weapon.

Despite being their first-time clay pigeon shooting with cadets we all enjoyed the day and came eighth out of 33 Squadrons. Even the grey weather didn’t put the mood down as we also found some old faces and made some new friends during the day.

I look forward to taking part in future clay pigeon competitions.
