On the 14th and 15th of October, eight 148 (Barnsley) Squadron cadets and four staff and took part in an Initial Expedition Training Weekend. The cadets had lessons in packing rucksacks, map reading, grid references, camp craft, first aid and emergencies, tents and cooking. A nice long walk from 148 (Barnsley) Squadron to Squirrel Wood Scout Camp. Cadets from both units made good friends and are all looking forward to their upcoming The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Bronze expeditions in the near future.
