Barnsley Air Cadets shine in RBL Poppy Appeal

Three cadets have been recognised for their outstanding efforts in the Royal British Legion (RBL) Poppy Appeal for the Barnsley District. Their dedication and hard work have raised significant funds and supported military veterans.

Cadet Sergeant Sanger, Cadet Corporal Dyson-Richards, and Cadet Corporal Davies played key roles in the appeal’s success. Over three Saturdays in October and November, they and their fellow cadets manned the poppy stands in Barnsley Town Centre, enduring the elements to ensure the appeal’s success.

As a group of three cadets, they collected highest amount among all attending the cadets, and collected £390.29 for the poppy appeal. In total 148 (Barnsley) Squadron raised over 3 weekends £3,671, which is a total never achieved before. Raising almost 10% of the overall total is a real achievement.

Their efforts have been acknowledged by the Barnsley Branch of the Royal British Legion, expressing immense gratitude for their dedication. The funds raised will support military veterans and their families.
