On the 22nd June 2025, the Squadron supported Mother Emily in her final service in her old Parish. Mother Emily has been part of the Squadron for some time and has been one of the best padres the Squadron has had. She was exceptional with the cadets and staff, whilst maintaining the right levels of fun. The Squadron and I will miss you Mother Emily, but I am sure this is farewell and not goodbye as you take on your new Church and Parish. We all wish you well in the next part of your journey and it was an honour to provide a guard and be present for your last service before taking your new church.
You will always be an extended member of the wider 148 Squadron family and we hope it won’t be long before you come by and see us. You have incorporated our motto perfectly while you have been with us, Spectemur Agendo, let us be judged by our actions. Our thoughts will be with you as you start the next part of your journey and we wish you all the very best.
Flt Lt Andy Williams RAFAC, Officer Commanding 148 (Barnsley) Squadron
