As the 2025 Duke of Edinburgh season comes to a close, we finish on a high with a very successful Silver expedition on the last weekending in October.

Cadets, Sgt Jakob Earle, Sgt Rian Dixon, Sgt Adam Musgreave and Cpl Kallum Davies set off from Skipwith Common Nature Reserve near Selby, where once sat RAF Riccall on their three day expedition, taking them through the country side of Selby and Snaith in the region of North Yorkshire.

The journey challenged the group physically and navigationally, but all candidates rose to that challenge and worked really well as a team. The weather across the 3 days and 2 nights of journeying was changeable, but overall really nice. My thanks go to Squadron Leader Williamson for assessing this group, but also to the whole staff team who have invested so much time and work into the cadets. I believe these cadets are going for Gold in the future! Well done all and good luck on the next step of the journey.
