On a very early morning 3 cadets and two staff set off from 148 (Barnsley) Squadron to head for RAF Topcliffe in North Yorkshire. As we drove up to Topcliffe we followed a very large black cloud for some time, hoping it wasn’t coming with us for the day. We were very lucky in that although the weather was very changeable it held off enough to allow the cadets to all fly at least once.
In the afternoon the ‘wall’ of rain cut off the day a little early, but all had a brilliant day.
The cadets got involved in running and supporting the gliding all day and thoroughly enjoyed their time at Topcliffe.
As ever out thanks go to all the volunteers that enabled our cadets to glide for the day, a real privilege. Thank you.
